Image Carousel using Twitter Bootstrap

I'm a complete rookie at Orchard. I am trying to add a "Carousel" Provider to Projections, as in this Steve Taylor's blog post from July 2012. I added a new Provider to the Projections module. I am sure this is not the way to do this and the results I am getting are comical at best.

Can anyone help guide me through what I need to do? I'm using a fresh Orchard 1.8 install with source in VS 2013. I am happy to pay for hourly coaching via Skype or email.

Best,

Matt

What exactly is the problem? Query Results? Projection? Or styling the Projection? Hint: you should enable ShapeTracing first.

ShapeTracing certainly helps, but I don't know enough about Orchard to really understand what I need to do. I'll keep trying.

Re: Image Carousel using Twitter Bootstrap

I guess this should probably be implemented as a Module. I added CarouselLayout.cs and CarouselLayoutForms.cs to the Orchard.Projections module \Providers\Layouts\ and created a hot mess. How do I offer a bounty?

Re: Image Carousel using Twitter Bootstrap

You do not need a module. Nor a provider actually. You just need a query with DisplayType "BootstrapCarousel" - or sth else descriptive - and a projection widget. If you stack, do drop a line hello@urbanit.gr.

Re: Image Carousel using Twitter Bootstrap

Thanks sroussos! Getting closer and learning quite a bit from your email. I'm still stuck on how to get photos to show up in the new alternate razor view but making progress. Anyone have an example? I don't think the Stripe bounty system is accepting payments from the US.

Re: Image Carousel using Twitter Bootstrap

Sorry to hear that about Stripe. According to the documentation, Stripe is supported in the US, but only supported in The Netherlands (where I'm registered) using their beta platform - perhaps that causes some discrepancy. Would you mind emailing me a screenshot of the error you received (be sure to erase your credit card number). sipke@orchardpros.net. FYI - we will be providing many more payment methods later this year.

Re: Image Carousel using Twitter Bootstrap

Did you have any luck with this? I'm struggling with reference issues.

I don't think that tutorial is valid anymore as its like 2 years old.
